AWILUX at a charity run
Publication date: 2022-05-23
Almost three hundred people took part in the 2nd Run in the Land of Mouflons at the lake in Górzno. Among them there was the AWILUX representation, because the aim of the event was to raise funds for a prosthetic hand for Maja Bączyk, our colleague's daughter.
Participants could run a 10-kilometer or walk 7-kilometer distance with poles. There will be a 500-meter run for children.
A total of 271 people competed: 112 runners, 86 walkers and 73 children.
AWILUX was represented by a group of almost 30 people.
Each participant paid the amount that will be credited to Maja's account.
The management board of AWILUX made an additional donation, calculated on the basis of kilometers traveled by the representation.
A commemorative medal was waiting at the finish line. There are also many additional attractions, incl. colorful bubbles, inflatables, motorcycle shows, homemade pastries and sausages.
18 month old Maja Bączyk was born with an uneducated left forearm. She is undergoing rehabilitation all the time, but a prosthetic hand is needed for her proper development. Such dentures are expensive and need to be replaced as the child grows.
